Sorcha Finucane - TrainedIn

“People who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones that do.” - Steve Jobs

By this definition, our founder, Sorcha Finucane, definitely qualifies as crazy. Having worked in senior training and development roles for years, Sorcha had a clear idea of how inefficient the process can be to find the right training program. In 2019, she conceptualised the idea of TrainedIn. It’s mission? To make researching and booking training courses so much easier.

As TrainedIn was being built, Sorcha realised that she could use the technology to help with another subject she felt passionately about: enhancing sustainability for small businesses and freelancers. In her full-time career, Sorcha had met many consultants, tutors and trainers who were incredibly talented and provided enormous support and value to people. However, due to modest marketing budgets these trainers couldn’t compete with larger training organisations.

TrainedIn launched in April 2020. Yes, right at the start of the Covid-19 lockdown. (The firstone…!) Throughout the year, TrainedIn has been running free webinars to connect freelancers and small training businesses to potential clients. Our promise is always to match highly skilled professionals with the individuals and businesses looking for their services.

Sorcha Finucane was recently the guest on the Money Never Sleeps podcast. Listen here for more details on TrainedIn’s founding story - and our big plans!

Participating Businesses

Detailed below are those businesses singed up to the programme. If you would like to get involved simply share the link with your team and email sorcha@trainedIn.ie to add your business to this group.

This training is invaluable for business and personal support for team engagement and investment.

Jean Marten, Head of Human Resources at Applegreen

Looking after our teams wellbeing is our number one priority at Castlemartyr Resort, we hope this training will give our team members the tools to effectively adapt with the new normal in the hospitality industry but also in their personal lives

- Rachel O’Donovan, Human Resources Manager at Castlemartyr Resort

This programme is a great idea as it is offering great support to all our employees (both the ones that are working and the ones that are not at the moment). It is something positive and inspiring that is truly needed in these challenging times

Josefin Anderson, Human Resources Manager at Saba Restaurants

Employee Engagement, training and wellness is vital at all times and especially so in these uncertain economic times, The majority of our team members are currently on furlough and the opportunities to train them and provide them with coping skills are extremely limited under the current restrictions, The proposed collaboration between Taste 4 Success Skillnet and TrainedIn will be a fabulous way for us to show them we really appreciate their worth as employees and provide them with a focus and opportunity to upskill for when the economic conditions and governmental restrictions begin to return to sustainable levels again.

- John Beattie, Hotel Manager at Byrne Hotel Group

These Trainedin training programmes are a great opportunity for our company and team members to upskill and cross train during a difficult time for the hospitality industry. They provide an excellent forum to keep actively engaged with all team members and complement existing EAP. A brilliant idea!

Andy Duffy, Managing Director at Caterwaiter

This collaboration between Taste 4 Success Skillnet and TrainedIn will provide much needed ongoing training and support for the Hospitality F&B sector. This really is a fantastic initiative which delighted to be part of and look forward to sharing with our team.”

- Paddy Hogan, Managing Director at Nutbutter
